 | About UsThe church of Mary help of Christians, the First oldest and the largest church in Garo Hills Meghalaya , was blessed on saturday , 4th february 1961 by Rt. Rev. Stephen Ferrando sdb, the bishop of shillong in the presence of a dozen priests and large gathering of faithful that had gathered weathering biting cold. The solemn event coincided with the annual sobha of the cathelic Church in Garo Hills which was held from 3-5th February 1961. The Church , measuring 130ft long and 40ft broad,was designed and supervised by Msgr. Emmanuel Bars. It took five years to complete the construction of the church. |
Community Activities
Our community reaches out to the needy and poor to give consolation,counseling aid and comfort and health care. We run school for the less privileged children and arrange Religious instructions to all who are in need of spiritual nurishment.We are a part and parcel of the universal catholic church.We have regular church activities.
